The 2027 course
Everything starts from the Moulin Papon sailing base. On the L and M, the swim is two laps of the same loop, with an Australian exit between them (2026 rules). The bike is ridden on roads closed to traffic, from the lake to the second transition area on Place Napoléon. The run is in town and finishes on Place Napoléon. The official website publishes the bike route for each distance.
What the race asks of your training
No drafting on the M and L
On the M and L, everyone rides alone, on roads closed to traffic. Threshold bike sessions with no wheel to follow, and one long ride a week with blocks at race pace, prepare you for this steady effort. On the S and XS, drafting is allowed: group rides in training prepare you better for those.
Two transition areas
The bike leaves from the Moulin Papon sailing base (T1) and finishes on Place Napoléon (T2). The organisers bring your wetsuit, cap and goggles back from T1 in a bag; your running shoes must be left at T2 before the start. Check both areas the day before and pack accordingly.
An end-of-May race
An M build-up starts in February and an L one in January: the first open-water swims come late. A wetsuit is mandatory below 16 °C and banned above 24.5 °C: swimming in it two or three times before the race avoids trying it for the first time on race day.
The cut-offs
On the M, you must be out of the water within 50 min and off the bike 2h50 after the start; on the L, within 1h15 and 5 hours, according to the 2026 rules. If you expect to be near the back, a timed swim-bike session late in your build-up tells you whether you will make it.

Why this plan works
Science-based periodisation
Base → build → specific → taper, with a recovery week every 3 to 4 weeks. Load goes up, but never two hard weeks in a row without a breather.
Paces, not vague feelings
Every session has target zones (pace, HR) computed from your MAS or a reference performance. A MAS test is built into the plan if you don't know yours.
Three disciplines, one load
Swim, bike and run are planned together: brick sessions, key sessions spread out, and a coherent total load week after week.
A plan that listens
After each session you rate how it felt (RPE). Too hard? The plan eases what follows. Skipped a session? It reschedules or absorbs it.
On your watch
On Garmin with the Endu app, on COROS by direct sync: the guided workout shows up on your wrist, step by step.

- How much is the entry fee?

- Which distances are offered?
- An L (1.9 / 90 / 21 km), an M (1.5 / 40 / 10 km), an S (0.75 / 20 / 5 km) and an XS (0.3 / 10 / 3 km), plus duathlons for ages 6 to 9 and 10 to 13.
- Triathlon de La Roche-sur-Yon: how many weeks of preparation?
- For an athlete at intermediate level, Endu builds a 15-week preparation. If your race is closer, the plan compresses phases while keeping the taper; if it's further away, it lengthens the preparation, and when the gap is large the preparation starts right away, gently and at your current volume, before building up.
- Is this plan well built?
- Pass at Endu’s plan check, the same as for any plan: 19 of 19 checks passed. A 15-week build (recommended minimum: 8); a longest run never more than 8% above the previous month’s; 83% of the time at easy effort; a taper cutting volume by 66% in race week. The rules and their sources are public on endu.fr/en/controle-technique.
- How many sessions per week?
- This example has 5 sessions per week. You choose 4 to 7 training days and the exact days (e.g. Tue, Thu, Sat, Sun): the plan sticks to them.
- I'm a beginner, is this plan for me?
- The plan adapts to your declared level (beginner to semi-pro): starting volume, progression and intensity change. Endu also offers a "Discovery" mode without a race to build a base first.
- Can I follow sessions on my watch?
- Yes, on Garmin and COROS. On Garmin, the Endu app (Connect IQ Store) shows today’s session and starts it as a guided workout. On COROS, link your account from your profile: your running, trail and cycling sessions land in the watch calendar. Other brands are not supported yet.
- How much does it cost?
- 14-day free trial, then €7.99/month with no commitment or €59.88/year (€4.99/month). Unlimited objectives and sports.
