The 2027 course

Start from Deauville beach, as a rolling start (10 athletes every 6 seconds, mass start for the elites). Swim: two 750 m loops in the sea with an Australian exit. Bike: one hilly loop through the Pays d’Auge, over the Côte de Saint-Laurent, with a water station at km 17; the page states 40 km but describes a 45 km loop. Run: two 5 km laps on the Planches, aid stations at km 2.5, 4.3 and 8.3, finish facing the sea. The detailed 2027 maps are announced as “coming soon”.

What the race asks of your training

A sea swim, between 16 and 20 °C

The Channel in mid-June sits around 16 to 20 °C according to the organisers, and wetsuits become mandatory below 16 °C. Two loops with an Australian exit: training in the sea, with waves and current, to sight and to get your rhythm back after the beach run, gains you more than pool lengths.

A hilly bike course, full of accelerations

The organisers describe a technical loop through the Pays d’Auge, over the Côte de Saint-Laurent, between stud farms and thatched cottages. The climbing is not published, but the profile means short climbs and constant accelerations: work on climbs of 1 to 3 minutes above threshold and on cornering descents. Drafting is banned: 7 m minimum between two bikes.

A flat 10K on the Planches

Two flat 5 km laps, in front of the crowds. After a punchy bike leg, the challenge is to find your pace quickly: bricks of bike followed by 15 to 20 minutes at 10K pace, every week late in the build-up, prepare you for it.

A 3 pm start

The Olympic distance starts on Sunday at 3 pm. Rehearse one or two key sessions in mid-afternoon, testing what you eat at lunchtime. For a race on 20 June, a 12-week build-up starts in late March.

Why this plan works

Science-based periodisation

Base → build → specific → taper, with a recovery week every 3 to 4 weeks. Load goes up, but never two hard weeks in a row without a breather.

Paces, not vague feelings

Every session has target zones (pace, HR) computed from your MAS or a reference performance. A MAS test is built into the plan if you don't know yours.

Three disciplines, one load

Swim, bike and run are planned together: brick sessions, key sessions spread out, and a coherent total load week after week.

A plan that listens

After each session you rate how it felt (RPE). Too hard? The plan eases what follows. Skipped a session? It reschedules or absorbs it.

On your watch

On Garmin with the Endu app, on COROS by direct sync: the guided workout shows up on your wrist, step by step.

Frequently asked questions

When is the 2027 Deauville triathlon?

When does registration open for the 2027 Deauville triathlon?
They have been open on Njuko since 15 October 2026 (8 October for 2026 finishers). The first price tier runs until 12 December 2026, while the bibs allocated at that price last.
Where does the race start?
On Deauville beach, below the coloured parasols, on Sunday at 3 pm for the Olympic distance. The finish is on the Planches, facing the sea, and bibs are collected on Rue de la Mer.
Do you need a licence?
No. The event is not affiliated with the FFTri: athletes without a licence fill in a health form when entering, and triathlon licence holders upload their 2027 licence.
Triathlon de Deauville: how many weeks of preparation?
For an athlete at intermediate level, Endu builds a 15-week preparation. If your race is closer, the plan compresses phases while keeping the taper; if it's further away, it lengthens the preparation, and when the gap is large the preparation starts right away, gently and at your current volume, before building up.
Is this plan well built?
Pass at Endu’s plan check, the same as for any plan: 19 of 19 checks passed. A 15-week build (recommended minimum: 8); a longest run never more than 8% above the previous month’s; 83% of the time at easy effort; a taper cutting volume by 66% in race week. The rules and their sources are public on endu.fr/en/controle-technique.
How many sessions per week?
This example has 5 sessions per week. You choose 4 to 7 training days and the exact days (e.g. Tue, Thu, Sat, Sun): the plan sticks to them.
I'm a beginner, is this plan for me?
The plan adapts to your declared level (beginner to semi-pro): starting volume, progression and intensity change. Endu also offers a "Discovery" mode without a race to build a base first.
Can I follow sessions on my watch?
Yes, on Garmin and COROS. On Garmin, the Endu app (Connect IQ Store) shows today’s session and starts it as a guided workout. On COROS, link your account from your profile: your running, trail and cycling sessions land in the watch calendar. Other brands are not supported yet.
How much does it cost?
14-day free trial, then €7.99/month with no commitment or €59.88/year (€4.99/month). Unlimited objectives and sports.
